Dollar Fark Hanna" Hanna was shown backed up against a veritable llff of gold bags wearing a chocked ult, and In each one of the squares of the cloth on the ooat, vest and trousers Davenport placed the Blgn of the dollar. Mr. Yearger, who has been em ployed on some of the leading news papers of the EaBt considers this not only the strongest cartoon of a political nature ever drawn by the Oregnlan cartoonist, but believes It to be above Gilliam's famous car toon of James 0. Blnlne, of Maino, as the "Tattooed Man"'. This is readily conceded to be his first and strongest cartoon In the East and It not only won laurels for Homer Davonport. but shook the sit uation to Its base and gave the sleepy cartoonists of the East their first In timation that the "Country Boy" from Silverton, Oregon, had come East with a bottle of the moBt caus tic Ink, a pen pointed sharper than needle with native Western wit and a cynical eye which saw and easily comprehended men and things and the power to put his observations In pictorial black and white that act ed like the leash end of a long black snake whip. The cartoon of "Dollar Mark Hanna, through the courtesy of Mr. nartholomay will be placed In Hart-h's Toggery window where all good Oregonlans can see It. l' O. E.
