-A HELP THE POOR KAII.KOAD. Judge Colvig says Medford Is Laugh ing Stock of Oregon. MHDFORD, Sept. 6. The Hert ford Commercial Club will work for law rates for Medford. At the close of B stormy session, with the presi . deut, Joseph Colvig, vigorously op posing the measure, a resolution to that effect was passed ty the .club. A number of railroad men were pres ent, but the voice of the judge thun dered the only dissenting vote. , "This la the most Idiotic thing I ever heard of," shouted the judge, whon the matter was liUqoduced. "You are making Medford and the commercial club the laughing stock y of Oregon. -You men do not look at kWthn thing In a reasonable light, but, because you are bucking a corpora tion, vote blindly.
