Railroad speculation has been .creat ed by the fact that a party of local men is securing rights of way be tween Myrtle Point and Roseburg over about the same route as was surveyed by the Cos Bay & Oregon Central railroad, which was form erly known as the Coos BayBoise line and was promoted by Francis H. Clarke. While it U not known for whom the rights of way are being secured it is said that they are for the Coos Bay Kastern Electric ruil way. for which Engineer Aston did some surveying work a few months ago. This same company receutly tiled 12 rights of way agreements on points along the same route of the Clarke road. No longer' does the blushlug bride and the bashful bridegroom have to give i their ages to an iuqulsitive marriage license clerk when they apply for the necessary document which entitles them to share one another's joys and sorrows. The new Wahington law simply requires that affidavits be lil ted setting forth that the bridegroom lis over 21 and the bride past IS. Of course, if they are under that, their ages must be given, so that the par ents' consent can be recorded. As a result the marriage reglster slmply shows that they are of "legal age." This phrase is becoming more and more popular and before long It probably will he Impossible to tell just what the ages of the contracting parties may be.
