PHILADELPHIA. Fob. 2 G. Pres ident Murphy, of the Central Labor union, who was yesterdny arrested for inciting a riot, following the pub lication of an Interview threatening trouble for the authorities, was re leased today. Murphy denied the statements and indications nre that little trouble will occur during the iluy. The company offers to take buck the strikers should they return ' by Tuesday. Pros ecutor Gnrvan today took initial steps for the extradition of twenty one beef trust barons who were in dicted vesterdny and whom he will attempt to bring to this state for trial. A hard fight will be put up liy the beef dealers. YAMHILL AND TULA x MOOK RAILROAD (Special to the Evening News). SALEM, Feb. 26. The Carlton & Coast railroad, with a capitalization of a half million dollars, filed articles of Incorporation here today. Ev ery variety of hybrids flournish here tn the greatest luxuriance, beauty and profusion. The climate nud soil of Douglas county are exquisitely adapt ed to the propagation of the rose. I'p to this time, however, there haa been no systematic and scientific cul ture of this beautiful queen of shrubs. Mature has been so bountiful in her bestowal of soil nnd sunshine and climatic conditions here that the rose has filled the world with frairrancc and beauty and brought reuuwu to Roseburg with scarcely no cultivation or attention at all. This, now. Is to bo changed. The purpose of the new rose club Is the bysteniatic and scientific cultivation and propagation of the rose. Under the auspices and Instruction of this club the people of Roseburg will be incited to take a greater and more In- lellgent interest in tho care and culti vation of the rose. The new club was formed last even Ins: at a meeting held In the Commer cial Club rooms, officers and a com mittee on ways and means elected, and a permanent organization wltl be effected next Wednesday evening. The officers chosen were- Harrv McClallen, president; Mrs. W. S. Ralph Terrlll, second vice-president; Ralph Terrlll. second vico-presldent ; W. T. Wright, treasurer and Henry Richardson, secretary.
