Title I Project Successful

Summer School
Planned
Yes, there’s going to be a summer
school this year for those who are
interested. It’s going to start June 7,
and ends July 30.
They are going to have six classes,
five of them are going to be required
classes. It’s going to be 8:00 a.m. to
3.00 p.m.
They are also going to have field
trips this summer school, too. They
are only accepting 69 students, who
are going to stay on the bottom floor
of Winona Hall, and they will only
accept those who are signed up ahead
of time. There’s going to be more
activities than they have in the school
year.
A Personal Note
Summer school is a small group of
students that’s going to have fun. I
know because I sure had fun when I
went to summer school. I will never
forget that summer year.
So I
hope you students that are staying for
summer school have fun as I did.

According to Bob Henselman, Title I
Coordinator at Chemawa Indian
School, the Chemawa Computer
Assisted Instruction Project has
been funded for another fiscal year.
Mr. Henselman says that he expects
to receive $115,581.00 to provide
services for about 250 target students
next fiscal year.

Henselman said that the project’s
goal continues to be to double the
academic gain of target students in
the Basic Skill Areas of Reading,
Language Arts and Math.
According to Mr. Henselman the
Computer Assisted Instruction pro­
ject will also provide services to tar­
get students in the Basic Skill Areas
during the 1976 Summer School.
Mr. Henselman also said that
members of the Title I Parent Advi­
sory Council will be on campus for a
meeting Thursday and Friday - May
27 and 28.
The Title I Parent Council will also
attend a joint meeting with ad­
visory School Board on Thursday.
