Both girls will be speaking at the graduation ceremonies on Friday. Top honors went to Darlene Madros of Kaltag, Alaska, who has attended Chemawa since her freshman year. Salutatorian is Janice Grigsby of Medford, Oregon, who joined Chemawa’s student body for her senior year. Both girls were chosen for their high grades throughout their high school years. Graduation Plans It was the night of the new moon. That was the signal we waited for on the night of May 22. All the dudes arrived wearing either some real fine threads or a funny looking monkey suit. And the chicks gathered to wear long silk dresses or something better. The band began to play and nobody could resist going out on the gym floor to “ boogie.” Monday and Tuesday was Senior Skip so we decided to truck on over to Kan-Nee-Tah resort, on the Warm Springs Reservation we all had a good time. So good! can’t remember part of it. Upon our arrival back at Chemawa, we were welcomed with a banguet. Our stomachs were once more full of some real good food. My com pliments to the Chef. Practice makes perfect, and we tried our best to perform the ritual of marching down the aisle to recieve our high school diploma. Every thing went smooth, so we stopped awhile for a brunch. Friday nears closer and closer. The big day is about here. I feel a little nervous; wonder what is to become of me in the future. As I see nothing but the best, will become the class members of 1976!
