G irls The girls varsity basketball team beat Scared Heart by a score of 43 to 30. Patty Simpson and Susie Marc hand each made 10 points. Chemawa also got six points from Janet Pakoo tas r five from Klara Stevens, four from Mari Sioux McDonald, three from Terri Penn, two from Margaret Igkurak and Emla Tillequet and one from Rose Knight. It was the last game for Klara Ste vens, who graduated in mid-year. Susie Marchand added 12 rebounds to her 10 points as Chemawa outre- bounded the taller Scared Heart team. The jayvees also won their game with Scared Heart by a score of 31-17. Ailene Samuels with 14 and Debbie Simpson with 10 were the high scor ers. Liz Taylor won praise for a fine defensive game. The Chemawa girls dropped two close games, 40-35 to McMinnville and 43-42 to Cascade. Mari Sioux McDonald led the scoring against McMinnville with 11. McMinnville’s overwhelming height advantage can celled Chemawa’s pressing defense. Against Cascade, McDonald had 17 ppints and Lynn Louis added 13. The Jayvees slaughtered Cascade, 37-13. Ailene Samuels made 14 for Chemawa and Loretta Penny added 12 more.
