Senior Girls Take
Red Cross Course
The twelfth grade girls are tak
ing Red Cross Home Nursing. The
classes, taught by Mrs Leona
Nopp, nurse at the hospital, are
held Tuesday and Thursday morn
ings from 8:45 to 11:15. The girls
are learning how to take tempera
tures, clean the thermometer, take
care of bed patients, make articles
such as back rests and foot rests,
etc.
Upon completion of the six les
son course, the girls will receive
Red Cross certificates.
See Your Dentist
Dr. Gene Poon, school dentist,
and his assistant, Miss Georgiana
Smith, have suggested that it would
be a good thing if older students
would make their own appoint
ments to see the dentist. Those who
have money in the office should
see Mrs. Seawright about having
their dental work done in Salem.
Make good use of your money while
you have it. Have your teeth
checked twice a year.
When you have made an appoint
ment, be sure to be there at the
time you are expected, for the doc
tor wastes time waiting for you.
Get an appointment when you
know you can be there. Cancel the
appointment if you find you cannot
keep it. In the future you will be
glad you kept your appointments.
Many Wear Red Feather
Chemawa employees contributed
$268.50 to the Salem Community
Chest this year, exceeding last
year’s giving by $100.00. Mr. Har
old Hayne, chairman of the campus
drive, reports that 95% of Che
mawa Indian School employees
gave to the fund.
