Wehunt. .Journalism Sponsor Allan Shepard, Printing Instructor A Letter to the Freshmen Dear Freshmen, Remember the davs of October 6. 7, and 8? In itiation! As if yon could forget! Really now, you’d have been disappointed if it had not happened to you, wouldn’t you? Initiation has its roots in tradition, and I think it is an educational experience. It calls for organ ization, planning, cooperation, initiative, and above all, sportsmanship on the parts of all concerned. Obedience, respect.'and perseverance are also quali- ies brought into play. On the surface perhaps it seems to be all fun. Comical clothes, and make-up antics on the football field; songs and dances, and serenades; constant obedience to our commands. It was a test of your sportsmanship and patience. You see, we were also initiated just three years ago, and we are glad we had the experience. We congratulate you on your sportsmanship and spirit of cooperation. During the school years that follow may your short comings grow less, and we wish for you four happy years at Chemawa. —A S enior . New Employees Miss Bernice A.
