» Summary of Sport Activities Willamette drops Indians Matmen Down Chemawa The Braves lost a hard-fought battle to the Will amette Frosh basketball team Tuesday, February 9, on the Braves’ home floor. The score at half time was 7-3 in Chemawa’s favor. Chemawa’s two star players, Harvey Whitford and Don Williams, were out of the game. Whitford had injured his toe in the previous game. Bud Ed Jen was high-point man for Ch emaw a with 6 points. The final score was 9-27. Six of our wrestlers went to Canby on Feb. 24, for a return match. Calvin Picard, 105 lb. class, pinned his man in less than 2 minutes. Fred Miller, 112 lb.; Clifford Arthur, 116 lb.; Joe Pete, 124 lb.; Carl Wood, 138 lb.; and Glenn Fritzler, 143 lb. were all decisioned over. The Canby team won the matches 17 to 5. Braves Edge Sacred Heart The Braves won a hard-fought game over Sacred Heart on Feb. 16, on the Braves home floor. Whitford was high point for the Braves with 15 points. The half time score was 17-14. Whitford saved the game when fouled and the Braves were trailing 24-25 with a few seconds to go. The two shots were good which made the score 26-25. Employees Exchange Positions Mr. W.E. Abell has been appointed boys’ adviser. He has retained some of his classes, Mrs. Abell, his wife, taking his other classes. Mr. Ernest Butler resigned as boys’ adviser to take charge of the campus grounds. Mrs. Edith Stone and Miss Letha Starr have joined the hospital staff as nurses’ aides. Mrs. Hauser has been transferred to Brewer Hall, where she will be a matron. Mrs. Ida Phares will be the new laundress. Miss Page, Principal, will be back at the high school when Mrs. Hauser begins work in Brewer Hall.
