Thanks to the students who worked here last summer under the direction of Mr. O’Reilly and to the students who worked during the school term under uc direction of Mrs. Cronk, a large number of cans jeen preserved. When Mr. Turney finished speaking, he and Mrs. Turney were given long and hearty applause by their many friends as they left the Auditorium. Immediately after the Chapel program, a recep tion in Winona hall was given in honor of the Tur neys by the junior class. The program which was presented by the class members was very well planned and consisted of the following: An Indian Legend given by Edith Kanine, a solo by Ralph Jackson, a song by the junior boys’ sextette, and portrayed in sign language by Edith Kanine. For the last num ber on the program, the whole group ofjuniors and guests sang a few well known songs, including one which was especially written by Miss Morse to hon or the Turneys. The 9th grade class is represented by Ernest Spencer, Paul Svinth, Ruby Whitwright, Tressa Graham, Lillian Havard, Alice Martin, Joe Berry, Glen Fritzler, Josephine Bonella, and Shirley Douthit. Ethel Armstrong, Mary Lucey Andrews, Ray Brady, Gayle Lawrence, Gloria White, and Mae Thomas lead the 10th grade group. Ethel Davis, Julia Berrys, Harold Dilts, andAudrey O’Connor head the 11 th grade group. The Senior class honor roll contains the names of Stanley Williams, Kathryn Jones, June Ford, Wilfred Teton, and Ben Bearchum. The students who remain in Chemawa for the holidays are looking forward to a week of activities and fun and a happy Christmas Eve party in the gym.
