Summary of Sport Activities
Undefeated Redskins on Warpath;
Invade Sandy Today
as head football coach. With the material he
has, Coach Olds should go a long way this year.
The Chemawa braves will attempt to chalk up
there fourth win when they invade Sandy today.
Braves will be without the services of Preston
Davis, stellar tackle.

Braves Upset Gophers
The Chemawa Redskins took another step to­
wards the League Championship when they de­
feated the Gresham Gophers by the score of 6-0
last Friday, Oct. 10.
The Redskins scored in the first period when
Clarence La Roque ran over from the 8-yard line.
After the score both teams played brilliantly,but
just couldn’t capitalize on their efforts. In the

up 8 first downs to Gresham’s 4.
Buckaroos Tough Opponents
On Friday, Oct.3, the Chemawa Redskins and
the Molalla Buckaroos battled to a 6 to 6 tie.
Chemawa scored four minutes after the game
started, on a series of running plays, with Clar­
ence La Roque going over from the 8-yard line.
It looked like another win but the boys from Mo­
lalla hitched up their belts and began to pass.
On three passes the Buckaroos went on a sustain­
ed drive all the way to the Redskin 1-foot line.
It was from there that Shields, husky fullback,
put his head down and crashed through the center
of the line for the tally. Both teams failed to
make their point after their touchdown.
The second half saw both teams march back
and forth up the field but neither could get that
extra scoring punch.
Chemawa’s timing and deception was some­
thing to see but the Redskins just couldn’t get
into th^fcharmed end zone.
Estacada Battered by Brave?
On Friday, Sept. 19, the Chemawa Redskins
traveled to Estacada to play their fjjst game of
the season.

The game was played in the rain and mud
inspitc of the soggy ball, the Redskins had no
trouble in pushing over four touchdowns and two
extra points for a smashing 26 to 0 win.
This game also marked the debut of Doug Olds
On Friday, Sept. 26, Chemawa traveled to Port­
land and defeated the Central Catholic School
by the overwhelming score of 30 to 0.
It was an easy win for the braves and there
was no doubt of the outcome after the first touch­
down was made.
