The GHEMAWA AMERICAN VOCATIONS < PAINT SHOP The Painters are busy painting some furniture that came from around the cam pus. They are also varnishing ping pong tables. Some of the boys are get ting to be pretty fair artists because they paint pictures in their spare time. ELECTRIC.SHOP In the electric shop, the students have had repair work. They now are rewir ing the vocational shops. This work will take about two or three weeks. The shop boys had to figure out how much wire and the amount of money is required for this wiring. Just two or three buildings like our vocational build ings took quite a bit of money. BARBER SHOP During the past few weeks the barbers have been doing their regular work, which consists of hair cutting, messaging and shampooing. These boys are having a hard time pro nouncing the “ jaw breakers” that are found in the “ Barber Science” which they study. Gale Bobb took a few lessons on per manent waving. He hopes to master this before he graduates from barbering. CARPENTER SHOP Leslie Warrior has just completed work on a partition in the greenhouse and he deserves praise for his fine work. Leon ard Bighorn is making a panel desk. - Vernon Jackson is making a table. William Settler is busy inlaying m ix ed walnut, maple, and cedar chest. AUTO SHOP The numerous cars are being repaired for various ailments by the auto shop students. The shop, is being ventilated, and heat adjustments are being made to make the shop warmer to work in this winter. New cement drive-ways are also being constructed. LEATHER CRAFT The boys under the instruction of Mr. DeCorah repaired close to 200 pair of shoes during the month of November. The boys also repaired the bags used by the basketball team to carry their suits in when they go on trips.
