Some steps have been taken to form a new athletic
conference among the seven largest high schools in the
Willamette Valley. Chemawa is a representative in
this league which it is believed would result in one of
the strongest conferences in the state. At a dinner
meeting, March 18, the principals and coaches of the
seven high schools which include Eugene, Corvallis,
McMinnville, Albany, Oregon City, Salem and Che
mawa, were invited. Plans were not definitely dis
cussed because some of the principals were not present.
Another meeting will be called at Chemawa April 15.
