O u r batters found little difficulty if any in h ittin g

A tk in s, catcher; M inthorne, first; N orw est, second;

like veterans around the bases and hit like “ Babe
R u th ” at th e bat, to say n o th in g about the speed w ith
w hich they ran and slid th e bases, w hile DePoe, A b ra
ham and B rendible took care of th e outfield positions
to perfection.
S atu rad ay afternoon our track and baseball team s
will en ter into a dual track m eet and ball gam e here
against the Salem high school. T he ball gam e is
scheduled to be called at o n e-th irty to allow plenty of

L ast year ou r varsity dropped one gam e to the high

com e-back in th e gam e S atu rd ay , w hile the track
team prom ises to give a good account of itself in
spite of th e absence of any experienced track m en.
M cM aster, S hepard, D onnelly, T u rn to e s, P etellin ,
Beauvais, F ro st, P eratrovich, K eiser and M ichell are

S tran ge, b u t tru e, the g irls ’ lines are as stra ig h t as

A n effort is being m ade to get m ore g u n s for th e

O ne tim e o u r parade g ro u n d was p len ty large
enough to stage a parade w ith o u t cram p in g our com

T h e com panies of the b oys’ battalion have been

T h e band has m ade several additions lately, and
probably the tallest in person of W allace M organ,
who is the new ly elected d ru m -m ajo r. W allace’s
h eig h t helps to m ake him an ideal d ru m -m ajo r.
