A splendid stu d e n t body— all seem ingly alert and determ ined to win out in secu rin g an education! T hree new m em bers, E llen and E lizabeth Beall and H arriet Cane, are very w elcome additions to th e s e m o r class. Mrs. H arriet Beckw ith, m other of the school clerk, Mrs. E aton, passed awav on Septem ber 21st after several m onths of illness, at the age of 84 years. T he services were held at the Rigdon u n d ertak in g parlors at Salem by Rev. E lv in T he rem ains were interred in th e Salem cem etery. D uring her stav at Chem aw a she endeared herself to all. T h e sym pathy of Mrs. E ato n s friends, and there are m any, go out to her. Chapel services last S unday evening were, as usual, conducted by S upt H all and were of great in terest. M rs.
