O ften, it is tru e , we do not see these o p p o rtu n ities, or fail to recognize th e ir value, and allow them to pass by. T h e d an g er in th is is th a t seldom do o p p o rtu n ities present them selves the second tim e if allowed to pass un n o ticed . T h e present school year is one of splendid o p p o r tu n ities. W e have a corps of com petent in stru cto rs and each d ep artm en t equipped for successful work. T h ere are prom ises of greater th in g s for the rem ainder of the y ear. M any im provem ents are contem plated and some begun. It w ould he well for us as we near th e T h an k sg iv in g season to co u n t o u r blessings and decide to m ake use of the o p p o rtu n ities afforded us. If we do this, at the close of the year we shall be w iser and stro n g er boys and girls, young men and you n g w om en. S m ith , o u r com petent d iscip lin arian and physical in stru c to r, the program as carried out was as follows: K la p p d a n s —G irls and Boys Snow flakes— G irls and Boys T he galleries and platform s were crow ded w ith v isi tors to view the en tertain m en t and no p art of th e tw o hours was dull. T h e girls in w hite m iddy su its and red ties, c a rry in g out the school colors, and th e boys in th eir w hite gym su its presented a very pleasing sight and all deserve credit for th e show ing m ade, co n sid ering the lim ited tim e given to the p rep aratio n of the en tertain m en t. T h e folk dan cin g , sobeautifully done, was especially pleasing. Mr. S m ith prom ises an o th e r en tertain m en t d u rin g the holidays and we are looking forw ard to som ething very good, as he d e lig h ts in surprises. “FA C T S ’ A B O U T C H E M A W A B y R e v . It is a fact, th a t F lorence Lindell is p residing at the organ at th e C atholic service. T h is speaks well for the service. It is a fact, th a t Mrs. Josephine Seim and Miss Stella G oodberlet were offered th e sm all am ount of $100.00 a week dow n in San Francisco; both, h o w ever, declined th is offer, to aid th e good cause in favor of the d ear Chem aw a children. T h e present rem u neration being for both only $400.00 per an n u m . It is a fact, th at the above facts are facts. A bout 25 small boys were invited to join in the fun and a very jolly ev en in g was enjoyed. F irst there was a p ean u t h u n t and then followed rollicking gam es so dear to c h ild re n s’ hearts. D elicious refreshm ents of fru it p u n ch , cake, candy and cookies were served.
