W ith th is issue of T h e Chem aw a A m erican we are
com m encing volum e 19. T h is is quite a respectable
age for a school pu b licatio n and in that period T h e
A m erican has noted m any changes in and out of the
service. Some of these changes have had a direct
te a rin g upon th is p u b licatio n , th e resu lt of o u r own
in itiatio n , w hile o th er changes have been w ro u g h t in
spite of us. W h eth er all of these changes have had
the desired effect we will not say. but th is we do
affirm: T h a t in every event th ere has been in evi
dence an earn est desire to do w hat was best.
T he A m erican com es o u t th is issue as a w eekly.
It is deem ed foi the best interests of the stu d en t body
and those connected w ith th esch o o l th at c u rre n t events
at Chem aw a be published at sh o rter intervals th an is
afforded by a m o n th ly pu b licatio n . T h e m agazine, as
published d u rin g the past four years, proved m ost in
terestin g and m ain tain ed a h igh standard for the
school. W e do not in ten d to abandon our m agazine
and every effort will be m ade to con tin u e the p u b lica
tion, but it will be issued at less freq u en t in terv als
and perhaps should be considered a q u arte rly . It is
our aim to have th e first issue out about C hristm as.
W e feel certain th a t th is arran g em en t will be the most
satisfactory for our readers and ourselves th a t has yet
been adopted at th is school so far as its paper and
m agazine are concerned.
