26 THE CHEM AW A AM ERICAN teachers recently. Miss Flint came from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Miss Reidel from Walker River, Nevada. The school is fast filling up, new parties arriving daily. A great number of new students have come from Alaska, several parties from Montana, also from other states. Prof. Kilpatrick, wife and two brothers, were visitors at the school on Sunday evening, Oct. 5. It is encouraging to see how the students have fallen in line; they seem anxious to get to work. Many have been spending their vaca tion at home, others have worked on farms and elsewhere, the greater part remaining at the school and going to the hop-fields the latter part of the summer for a few weeks. This has been a splendid outing, all re turning in good health, besides having earned enough to furnish them with spending money during the winter. William Jackson, Eugene Geffee, Loulin Brewer, Nick Hatch and Frank Johnson, Chemawa Indian boys, are attending the Salem High School. Paul Kinninook is attending Willamette University.
