Balo onv level • tilth St. Market • }43-3622 I Your Vision of the American Future —A Contest I I in celebration of the Smithson ian Exhibition, Yesterday's Tomorrows—Past Visions of the American Future, coming to the Willamette Science and Tech nology Center (WISTEC), Feb. 2-April 14, The Common Foun dation is sponsoring a contest en titled What Is Your Vision of the American Future—Where Peace, Abundance and Love Prevail? The Smithsonian Exhibit, an ex citing collection of works portray ing "the future" as seen by people in the past, will be making its ' West Coast premiere and only Northwest showing in Eugene next month. (We'll have more on this event in subsequent issues.) The Common Foundation, a local charitable corporation, has taken this opportunity to invite people to. "dream about a positive American future" by entering their contest: Rules: The entry is not to ex ceed 5 minutes, 5 pages, 5 pounds, or 55 inches in girth and can be presented on paper, cassette, VHS or other easily judged media. The entry must be in a mailable format and must reach The ' Common Foundation at P.O. Box 1122, Eugene, OR 97440 no later than March 1, 1985. Entries will be judged for Creativity, Adherence to Theme, Aesthetic Appeal and Uniqueness. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Children 0-12; Teens 13-19; Adults 20-120. Judging will be done by a panel of community residents. Winners will be announced on March 14, at a showing of the Exhibit spon sored by The Common Founda tion.
