The Brooke Davis Band plays at the Holiday Inn, Tuesday through Sunday, through July 23, from 9-2 am. Aurora, with Jeffrey Defty on cello, Alan McCullough on flutes, and For rest McDowell on guitars, will perform a candlelight concert at Maude Kerns Art Center, 1910 East 15th, on Friday, July 15, at 8 pm. Aurora’s original music draws from classical, jazz, ethnic and Eastern roots. The Evolutionary Dance Band will be playing rock & roll at Old Taylor's, Thursday, July 7, at 9:30 pm. My favorite breakfast and lunch stop is now open for evening meals—on the week ends, Friday-Sunday. The makers of those incredible too large-for-your-plate whole-grain pancakes for 95C and the ir resistible freshly ground coffee (and decaf) are now offering many of their regular menu items and a weekly special dur ing the dinner hours, 5:30-9:30 pm. And everything on the din ner menu is home-cooked, na tural, nutritious and priced at $4 or less. Last weekend we feasted on the dinner special—pizza muf fins with sauteed vegetables and tossed green salad for only $2.95. The homemade herb En glish muffins were split and top ped with sauce, cheese, olives, and green peppers, and were not only filling; they were delicious! Nicely sauteed carrots and celery and a green salad with my favorite lemon tamari dressing rounded out this meal. The Keystone regularly fea tures such items as omelettes, hamburgers, salads, homemade soups and chili, and Mexican dishes such as huevos rancheros, quesadillas, and tostadas, to name a few. Keystone owner/ baker George bakes up fresh breads, muffins, cinnamon rolls, pies, and other desserts daily. The cornbread served with soup or chili is one of my favorites. The Keystone will soon be serving beer and wine. They’ve been approved by the OLCC but are waiting for final action by local government. The Keystone Cafe is open daily from 7 am-2 pm, and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5:30-9:30 pm. They’re located at 395 W. 5th Ave. in Eugene, between Lin coln and Lawrence Streets.
