The Dance-a-Thon will run a full 24 hours. be ginning at 7 pm Friday. Oct. 15. and ending at 7 pm on Saturday. Oct. 16. Dancers may begin dancing at anytime during the 24 hours. Participants are asked to solicit cash pledges for each hour danced. Organizations that participate may keep 25% of the pledges they earn. Live music by King Bop will open and close the Dance-a-Thon. with recorded music for the rest of the event. The Dance-a-Thon will be held at Dance Works. 1231 Olive, in Eugene, which has an excellent wood dance floor. upstairs, with windows on 3 sides. ORT will provide resting space and all the necessities for participants' comfort. Dancers should sign up as soon as possible, so they can begin collecting pledges. Call Dan Bruno at 345-1049. Thursday 14 Workshops Northwest Regional Energy Sym posium in Room 167 of the Erb Memorial Union on the U of O cam pus begins at 7 pm today and con tinues tomorrow. Mark Reis, Direc tor of the NW Conservation Act Coalition, speaks on “Conservation, the Regional Power Act, and the Model Plan"; Lloyd Marbet, a lead ing anti-nuclear activist, speaks to "Wah Chang and Nuclear Power in Oregon"; Dan Coldrich, Professor of Political Science UO, discusses the “Political Economy of the North west Energy"; and Mike Grainey, Deputy Director of Oregon Dept. Energy talks about “State Energy Perspective." Free. Survival Center sponsors. Children Rikki Tikki Tavi will be shown for children of all ages at 3:30 in the Springfield Public Library. Free. Documentary depicting dramatic accounts of Salvadoran refugees will be shown at Latin American Cultural Center, 1236 Kincaid at 7:30 pm, along with a panel discussion on the North American response featuring speakers from El Rescate, a unique program serving the needs of the Salvadoran refugees. Theatre A Galway Girl by Geraldine Aron, a one-act play set in Dublin and Lon don, will be performed at Aunt Lucy's Loft, 1340 Alder, at 8 pm, opening tonight. Costs $2.50.
