This year, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual My Own Two Hands fundraiser is a com- pletely online silent auc- tion. Bidding for the vir- tual auction will open on Friday, May 8 and close on Saturday, May 16, with more than 75 different items available to bid on during that time. No ticket purchase is necessary to participate in the auction, and bids can be placed from the comfort and safety of home via cell phone or internet-connected device. SFF organizers have announced the event9s raf- fle item and procedure for entering to win. Only 200 raffle tickets will be sold to win a handcrafted, custom and highly-coveted Preston Thompson guitar. Raffle tickets are $50 each. The model to be raffled is an OM-shaped guitar with a beautiful Cuban mahogany back/sides paired with an Adirondack spruce top. This is a great sized model for finger-style players and pickers alike. Inlay specialist Simon high- lighted his original Regency torch inlay by making it out of a combination of maple and walnut woods, accent- ing the rope-top purfling and the maple fretboard markers. Luthier Gareth Jenkins hand carved the braces and hand graduated the tops to cap- ture the vintage tone play- ers are looking for.
