Much of that ugly reflection was concentrated in the State of Virginia, where Governor Ralph Northam first admitted, then denied, that he was one of the two utter dimwits who appeared in a photo from his medical school yearbook. One of the idi- ots was wearing black- face, and the other case of arrested development was done up in Klan regalia, including the stupid hood. Northam seems to have seized on the <plausible deniability= tactic a bit late in the game, given that no one is stepping up to con- firm who the two racists are, and as of this writing he is still refusing to step down. The arrogance of modern politicians is off the hook, but this tale gets even better.
