On May 25, from 4 to 7 p.m., Sisters will unveil new work by local artists during the Fourth Friday Art Stroll. For May, which is Historic Preservation Month, Western artist Len Babb will be at Sisters HomeLand Realty, 401 E. Main Ave., the historic Hardy Allen house. Owner Ali Mayea will give tours and the Three Sisters Historical Society will have historic pho- tographs of early Sisters. The Sisters Area Photography Club exhibit continues at Sisters Library with more than 40 pieces by a dozen local artists. Rodeo memorabilia fills the display cases. At Sisters Art Works, “rock PAPER scissors” fea- tures three artists who work in paper: Carly Garzon Vargas (who’ll be demonstrating paper cutting), Kelley Salber and Laura Fouts. See the intri- cate cut paper compositions of scenes and portraits, the elegant art of book-making and box-making, and magi- cal miniature scenes that tell a story. The Roundhouse Foundation is sponsoring this exhibit in support of arts and artists in Central Oregon. Jemez, New Mexico Pueblo sculptor Cliff Fragua PHOTO PROVIDED Cliff Fragua at Raven Makes. returns to Raven Makes Gallery, joined by his wife, Leah Mata. Cliff and Leah have begun a collaborative study and artistic realiza- tion reflecting the ancestral, extended trading relationships in Native North America. The show continues throughout Memorial Day. For more than 35 years, David Rock has been painting murals and fine art for muse- ums, zoos, aquariums, busi- nesses and personal collec- tions. He works with airbrush and brushwork on canvas, plaster, or drywall. He will be showing some of his work at Zosel-Harper Realtors. At Redfield Gallery, Randy will show his color-field paintings. His ceramic bowls and platters are marked down 40 percent for art stroll. Kibak Tile features house numbers and original hand-painted tiles. Nature’s Bling’s new owners, Arlene and Kyle Olechnowicz, have gems and minerals from around the world handcrafted by Mother Nature, original paintings by Candace Bruguier and Michael Woodward, and the Dinosaur Dig for kids. Jill Neal Gallery is home to a stable of new impressionistic and design horses that are just released from Jill’s studio. Grizzly Ridge Upcycle has an eclectic collection of envi- ronmentally responsible upcy- cled art created from re-used material that would otherwise be discarded. Wildflower Studio has new work by Wendy Bax and Chris Nelson. Wendy’s new jewelry incorporates leather, metal, and pearls. Chris shows new oil paintings of landscapes, birds, and local scenes. At his gallery, Dyrk Godby will happily play a tune and talk about his newest Western works in leather, as well as this year’s Sisters Rodeo artwork. Ken Scott (Imagination Gallery) has collaborated with artist and colorist Marjie Scott, creating several new designs hand-hammered, hand-pierced, steel lighting for any room in your home. 5 QuickbDraw This month, Sisters Arts Association’s Quick Draw will be for five $20 gift cards from Three Creeks Brewing Co. Enjoy famous locally brewed beer, lunch with friends, or a complete dinner. Gearing up for Rodeo, Sisters Gallery & Frame Shop celebrates horse-themed art by Jennifer Hartwig, Carol Grigg, Kimry Jelen, Wendy Birnbaum, Caroline Stratton and Ann Grossnickle. Sisters Coffee Company has horse and owl photographs and sweeping landscapes by Al Krause. Get a clock-mak- ing tour at Beacham’s Clock Company, and then head to the Twigs Gallery for the High Desert Series, Experiments with Printing, Fiber and Stitching, by Judy Hoiness. Amanda Houston, an award-winning member of the NW Pastel Society, is featured at The Clearwater Gallery from 4 to 6 p.m. Her show will continue through late July. Retired veterinarian and world traveler Clarke Berryman is featured at Gary Cooley’s Collection Gallery. His artistic talents include pencil and oil art, and wildlife photography, exotic wildlife and portraits.
