Christmas Music Concert A special Christmas music concert featuring Sisters Children’s Choir, Sisters High Desert Bell Choir, Renaissance Sisters, and the adult church choir will be performed at 10 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church on Sunday, December 10. Bell Choir Performance On Saturday, December 16 at 2 p.m., all are invited to the Sisters Library to enjoy holiday music with the Sisters High Desert Bell Choir, which was founded in 2008 and has performed at the Sisters Christmas Tree Lighting, talent shows, and much more. Live Radio Performance Sisters Classic Old-Time Radio Experience (SCORE) will perform a Christmas radio broadcast for all ages at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13 at Sisters Community Church. SCORE will be joined by the Bend radio group Gigawatts, with many of the sound effects created right on stage. Light refreshments will be served. Free, but donations gladly accepted! The vision of this faith- based organization is to touch the hearts of kids before they get to middle school and high school, and proceeds from the silent auction will help expand to two summer camps in 2018. Wreaths Across America at Camp Polk Cemetery This year’s ceremony at Camp Polk Cemetery placing wreaths to honor fallen service members will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 16. Main Ave. Food Assistance at the Kiwanis Food Bank Your family may be eligible for food assistance at the Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank. Eligibility rules may be found online at fns.usda.gov/tefap or visit the food bank for complete information. The food bank is located at Main Avenue and Oak Street and is Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You may also get cat and dog food weekly during those hours at no charge, provided by Furry Friends Foundation of Sisters. SCA Christmas Musical Book Corner December Sale! Sisters Christian Academy invites the community to join in a musical adventure to the manger...by camel! Shelter Volunteers Sought Chorale Concerts Volunteer monitors are needed for the 5 p.m.-to-midnight shift at Sisters Cold Weather Shelter. Duties include checking in guests, helping with dinner and cleanup, and following the established evening checklist. There are two monitors per shift and training is provided.
