Wednesday, September 27, 2017 The Nugget Newspaper, Sisters, Oregon 13 Richard’s Produce to host fall festival Autumn brooked no question about her arrival in Sisters Country — fall is here for certain — and with it comes Richard’s Produce’s first-ever fall festival. The event is set for S a t u r d a y a n d S u n d a y, September 30 and October 1, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. “I want to do something exciting,” Richard Greene explained. “It’s kind of a thank-you to the community and I wanted to create some excitement.” Greene and his partner, Caroline Lucas, are hosting the Seed to Table program, which connects Sisters stu- dents with agriculture. “They’re going to have a big presentation,” Greene said. “They’re going to have a nice organic spread.” Proceeds from the event will benefit the ongoing program. The event also features free mini-pumpkins for kids ages 8 and under from the Richard’s Produce pumpkin patch. They’re cooking corn- on-the-cob and will have kettle and caramel corn, too. They will feature a variety of quality Pacific Northwest produce. Veterans cleanup project...
