League Soccer pool play.
The Sisters Library will be
closed on Monday, August 21,
the day of the solar eclipse.
Delivery services like
FedEx, UPS and the U.S.
Postal Service will be operat-
ing, but there may be delays.
Sisters City Hall will be
open. Public works crews
will stage equipment to set
up a detour if traffic warrants
it. That decision will be made
by Oregon Department of
Transportation officials.
Garbage pickup in the
downtown core will be done
in the early morning, accord-
ing to Nicole Abbenhuis of
the City of Sisters Public
Works Department.
During the period from
Thursday, August 17 through
Tuesday, August 22, High
Country Disposal is asking
customers who have service
on those days to put their
garbage & recycling carts/
containers out by 10 p.m. the
night before their service day.
Collection times will begin at
midnight, due to the increased
traffic from the solar eclipse.
The Cascades East Transit
Sisters-to-Bend route will
not operate on August 21 or
August 22.
