National Prayer Breakfast
Sisters Christian Academy
is the sponsor for an event
commemorating the National
Day of Prayer on Thursday,
May 4. A prayer breakfast will
be held at Sisters Community
Church, 7 to 8:45 a.m. (doors
open at 6:45 a.m.). Guest
speaker is Brett Miller, founder
of Warfi ghter Outfi tters, a
nonprofi t that brings veterans
together on fi shing and hunting
trips. Tickets are $65 (payable
to Sisters Christian Academy

Annual Tea & Fashion Show
St. Edward the Martyr Roman
Catholic Church will hold its
17th Annual Tea & Fashion
Show on Saturday, May 13 at

Stars Over Sisters Star Party
Learn about the night skies

DLT Walk + Hike series
Now through November,
Deschutes Land Trust volunteer
naturalists lead more than
120 free walks, hikes, and
bike rides. Explore birds,
wildfl owers, and geology at
various protected lands in
small groups. Registration

outing opens one month prior

Child Car Seat Checkup
Help for Veterans
The Sisters-Camp Sherman
Fire District will hold a child
car seat checkup on Friday,
May 5, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at
the Sisters Fire Hall. Nationally
certifi ed technicians will
check your child’s seat for any
recalls, as well as proper fi t and
installation, and caregivers may
receive help with installation
(bring your child, and seat
and vehicle user manuals, if
possible). No appointment is
necessary; plan on at least 20
minutes per seat. For more
