By Helen Schmidling
Correspondent
This month’s Fourth Friday
Art Stroll will feature every-
thing from shimmering fab-
rics and glass mosaics to the
open doors of My Own Two
Hands. Stroll through the gal-
leries of Sisters between 4 and
7 p.m. this Friday, and sign up
for this month’s Quick Draw
prize.
Visit Sisters Art Works at
204 W. Adams Ave. for a sneak
peek at some of the pieces
donated by local artists to My
Own Two Hands (MOTH), the
annual fundraiser for Sisters
Folk Festival, in support of
music and arts programming
in our schools and community.
On display that night are the
Common Canvas, “Opening
Doors” pieces.
Clearwater Gallery will be
featuring Mare Schelz, Wendy
Vernon, and Edie Shelton.
Mare’s colorful glass mosa-
ics have a rustic and organic
feel obtained through the use
of glass and its reflection.
Wendy’s new jewelry is ele-
gant and timeless, with pearls
and stones. Edie’s fused glass
pieces are both beautiful and
functional.
Raven Makes Gallery
welcomes master stone and
bronze sculptor Cliff Fragua
from Jemez Pueblo, New
Mexico. Cliff will be at Raven
Makes all weekend, giving

presentations and a demon-
stration of his art, and playing
congas, along with guitarist
J.J. Otero, Navaho.
At Twigs, see the work
of native Oregonian Linda
Goering. Linda meshes
vibrant hand-dyed silks with
fine wool, bamboo, angora,
and other fibers to create
unique felted scarves, wraps,
and home-decor accents.
Sisters Gallery & Frame
Shop features wildlife (and
some not so wild) works
by Jennifer Hartwig, Jodi
Schneider, and Carol Grigg.
This month, proceeds from the
gallery’s sale of all of Jodi’s
original watercolors will be
donated directly to her to help
meet expenses from her recent
injury.
Studio Redfield will fea-
ture new paintings by Randy
Redfield. Three large-format
paintings on wood panels will
be shown, along with smaller
studies, and hand-painted
ceramics.
JoAnn Burgess is the fea-
tured artist this month at Hood
Avenue Art. Her love of nature
is reflected in pastel and
mixed-media paintings that
use semi-abstraction, color
and texture for an exciting
journey of the senses.
Walk down Fir Street
to Jill’s Wild But Tasteful
Women Gallery. Jill Neal has
created brand-new design
style horses, with an emphasis
on flowing colors and lines.
The new “Lady G” pieces
combine women with the
horses – rotund nudes with
streaming hair ride multi-col-
ored horses for a combination
of design with whimsy.
At Navigator News, see
Janice Druian’s latest land-
scapes. Janice is an award-
winning Central Oregon oil
painter best known for captur-
ing the beauty of the isolated
West.
What if an artist never
invited anyone to come and
see? What is the purpose of
creativity if not for sharing?
Come and see new works from
the winter doldrums, miracu-
lous manifestations from just
showing up at the workbench,
at Ken Scott’s Imagination
Gallery.
