Open House at the Fire Hall The Sisters-Camp Sherman RFPD will host an open house Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the main fi re station, 301 S. Elm St. in Sisters. Tour the facility, check out the apparatus, meet local fi re and emergency medical response personnel and Fire Corps members. Get a blood pressure check, learn more about FireMed membership and watch fi refi ghter skills demonstrations! Fundraising Car Wash The Mr. SHS contestants and their escorts will hold a car wash on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Melvin’s Fir Street Market parking lot. Vacancies on the SPRD Budget Committee The Sisters Park & Recreation District board is accepting applications to fi ll up to three (3) budget committee vacancies. The committee reviews the budget document as proposed by the budget offi cer and will meet on Tuesday, May 9 (with possible meeting May 10). Candidates must live in the district, not be an offi cer or employee of the district, and be a qualifi ed voter of the district. Urban Forestry Board Seeks Members The City of Sisters is seeking volunteers for the Urban Forestry Board, to provide guidance for urban forest management, including all trees located within public places owned or controlled by the City. Kindergarten Roundup Sisters Kindergarten Roundup pre-registration will take place Friday, April 28, with two sessions: 8:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. Children who will be age 5 on or before 9/1/17 are eligible for the 2017-18 school year. Call the SES office at 541-549-8981 to schedule an appointment. Enrollment forms may be picked up at the office and must be completed and returned by Friday, April 21. To register you must bring the child’s birth certificate and immunization records. Annual Easter Egg Hunt Sisters-Camp Sherman and Cloverdale Fire present the annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages infant to 11 on Sunday, April 16, with the Easter Bunny to greet the kids. The hunt takes place at 1 p.m. at Creekside Park and the adjoining Creekside Campground, rain or shine! Parking is limited; kids should arrive by 12:40 p.m. to be divided into age groups.
