16 Wednesday, February 15, 2017 The Nugget Newspaper, Sisters, Oregon Obituaries Anthony Christian Andersen Peggy Marshall November 24, 1945 — February 2, 2017 April 8, 1930 — January 26, 2017 Anthony “ To n y ” Andersen would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call that they have been “look- ing for Fast Eddy for some time now.” It was an offer he could not refuse for an assignment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge bonus — a reunion with family and friends, and a new “mission” that takes him to a place where he will continue to live it up to his heart’s content and truly be free. As a young man he enlisted in the U.S. Army (1968) and was selected to attend Special Forces training where he served a multitude of Special Forces Units: 6th, 5th, 8th, 3rd Battalion 7th, 1st Battalion 10th SFGAs on Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha, and the most elite U.S. Military Unit to serve in the Vietnam War, the SOG. Anthony “Fast Eddie” A n d e r s e n w a s h o n o r- ably discharged receiving the Distinguished Service Cross, two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, Army Commendation Medals, National Defense Service Medal, three Service Stars and many more. In civilian life he fol- lowed many paths from rural America through for- eign countries, residing in Sisters for many years as proprietor of Yukon Jack’s Saloon, and director of mar- keting and sales, Consep, Inc. in Bend. Tony’s last years were spent on the Oregon coast where he enjoyed fishing, family, friends and football. Tony left detailed instruc- tions for us all to “cele- brate life and your mission here” and his has now been On January 26, our beau- tiful wife, mother and grand- mother, Peggy Marshall, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Peggy passed away at home with her husband Chuck and her youngest daughter Patty by her side. Peggy was born on April 8, 1930, in Corsicana, Texas, to William and Naomi Camp. Peggy met her future husband, Chuck Marshall, while they were both work- ing at Wentworth & Irwin in Portland. They married on January 19, 1951, at The Church of Christ in Portland. He is survived by his wife, Carley, and his daugh- ters and son-in-laws Susan and Martin Powarzynski, Michelle and Ron Clyborne, and Jamie and Tim Jablonski; his sisters and brother-in-law Valerie Ward, and Lynn and Pete Rollo; three grandchildren, Justin Andersen, Andrew and Jenna Jablonski; two nephews and a daughter- in-law Jason and Elizabeth Rollo, and Shaun Ward; his beloved “Relos” in Australia, Wisconsin, and all the heartfelt friendships he cherished along the way. All are welcome to join in his Life Celebration with full military honors by the Special Forces 5th Group and 1st Group, that will take place on Sunday, February 19, at 11 a.m., at The Elks Lodge, 1686 12th St., Florence, OR. They just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Peggy leaves behind three children, Chuck (Diane) Marshall from Washougal, Washington; Becky (Wayne) Buckelew from Sandy; and Patty (Galarsa) from Gazelle, California; plus nine grand- children and 21 great-grand- children (with another due next month). Peggy will be missed by many family members and friends. Peggy has lived her whole life serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and been a great influence to many people in their lives. May she rest in the arms of Jesus, till we meet again. There will be a Celebration of Life held at Sisters Community Church on April 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. and another one in Troutdale on May 6, at The Chapel from noon to 2 p.m. then afterwards Peggy’s ashes will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. Casey Gwenyth Galusha Beck March 2, 1984 — January 17, 2017 Casey Gwenyth Galusha Beck, 32, of Ruch, passed away January 17 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. Casey grew up in Ashland and graduated from Ashland High School. In 2010 she married Jordan Beck, SHS 2003. He is the son of Sue and Jim Beck of Sisters. Together, Casey and Jordan operated Rogue Biofuels in southern Oregon. But Casey’s primary role was that of mother to their two children, Maya and Milo. She instilled in them her love of nature, delighting in their exploration of all things wild. She had a golden soul, and her light is deeply missed. Casey is survived by her husband and their children Maya, 3, and Milo,1; mother Pam; father Brad and step- mother Amy; brother Gallagher; sisters Meagan and Ellie; as well as numer- ous aunts, uncles and cousins.
