Sisters was to play at Henley on Tuesday, September 13. The Outlaws will travel to Sutherlin two days later. By rongi yost Correspondent The boys soccer team was defeated 3-0 at Summit on Thursday, September 8. Sisters played without one of their key play- ers, Malachy Sandstorm, who was out for the game due to a minor knee strain. Summit scored in the 17th and 29th minutes and held a 2-0 advan- tage at the half. They tacked on their final goal late in the game and recorded the win. Coach Rob Jensen told The Nugget that despite the loss the Outlaws played well. Ryan Funk had some huge saves in the box, including a penalty kick in photo by Jerry baldoCK the second half. The defense also keaton green with a header against Summit did a great job of high School. The Lady Outlaws soc- cer team was defeated 7-0 by Summit on Thursday, September 8. Due to numer- ous injuries, the Outlaws merged JV and varsity play- ers so they would be able to compete. Despite the loss, coaches are pleased with the team’s play and notice marked improvement on the field with each match-up. Sophia Bianchi, a JV player, filled a critical defen- sive role for the Outlaws. Bianchi made huge adjust- ments in the back, and did a great job defending. Emma Horner and Allison Mansfield, also JV players, made a good team in the midfield. They played to one another and defended their area very well. Charlotte Barton played in the box. Summit’s shots were extremely hard, and Barton did an amazing job and had several great saves in the game. Lexi Stewart led the team and capitalized on opportunities when Summit made mistakes. Coach Jenna Pike said, “Even though the score hurt, the girls played really well. A lot of girls were hurt and I just sat them, because I knew they would be healed by next week. I didn’t want to gamble and take the chance that they would be hurt even more. I want a healthy team going into league.” The Outlaws were to play at home against Henley on Tuesday, September 13. On Thursday, September 15, Sisters will play at home against Sutherlin. { Bone loss begins after age 30.
