Wednesday, July 13, 2016 The Nugget Newspaper, Sisters, Oregon Beatles cover band to play Sisters Angeline’s Bakery will host Abbey Road LIVE! for the July 15 entry in the Festive Friday Series. Abbey Road LIVE! is not your typical Beatle look- alike tribute act; don’t expect mop-top haircuts and vintage Rickenbacker guitars. Rather, this show is about bring- ing to life some of the more mature and complex Beatles material in a raw and spirited fashion, while remaining true to the original recordings. Combining attention to detail with a creative exuberance, the band always delights its audiences with its diverse repertoire of hits and more obscure favorites. Abbey Road LIVE! is made up of four all-star musi- cians from the infamous Athens, Georgia, music scene that gave the world R.E.M., Widespread Panic, and B-52s. Collectively the band members have recorded and toured regularly with Cosmic Charlie, Charlie Mars, and Fuzzy Sprouts. Individual band members have also col- laborated with acts such as Indigo Girls, Juliana Hatfield, Mike Houser (Widespread Panic), Danielle Howle and Lemonheads. While the four lads from Athens generally perform as a quartet, they have also been known to recruit the photo provided abbey road live! recreates the iconic Beatles “abbey road” cover. “Magical Mystery Horns” and the “Lonely Hearts Strings,” lending authentic accompani- ment to the more elaborately orchestrated tunes. The latest addition to the Abbey Road LIVE! musical arsenal is an Indian sitar and tablas. At a typical Abbey Road LIVE! show, audiences young and old can be found glee- fully singing along with every word, many in disbelief at get- ting to hear this monumental music performed live; some- thing that even the Beatles themselves never did, since they stopped touring in 1966. The show starts at 7 p.m. Cover charge is $5-$10 on a sliding scale. Beer, wine and tasty dinner options are avail- able all night. Supervised chil- dren are always welcome. The Bundys and more than a dozen other defen- dants are scheduled for trial in September on charges stem- ming from the January take- over of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Marcus Mumford, who replaced Mike Arnold as Ammon Bundy’s lawyer, seeks both the delay and his client’s pretrial release, con- tending he and Bundy have been unable to watch hours of video evidence . The Oregonian / OregonLive reports that Bundy was recently moved from the jail in downtown Portland. U.S. District Court Judge Anna J. Brown said she couldn’t approve a delay without a showing that the Bundys, couldn’t prepare for trial by September 7.
