Black Butte Ranch to host big estate sale Garage-sale enthusiasts are on the alert for a big one coming June 18 to Black Butte Ranch. Household furnishings, antiques, art works, tools, sports equipment, furniture and more will be available at a “one-and-only” Black Butte Ranch Treasures estate sale. Ranch residents are clean- ing out their garages, base- ments, attics and other nooks and crannies and getting rid of unnecessary (but still in good condition) household items. Ranch personnel also are combing through inventory and will be selling furniture and other items that are no longer in use. The Black Butte Ranch Treasures estate sale is spon- sored by the BBR Art Guild, Serving Sisters Since 1980 with proceeds from donated items to provide scholarships for Sisters students. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the location is the Ranch maintenance facility on Geo. McAllister Road. To get there take Highway 20 to the Camp Sherman intersection, turn onto Geo. McAllister Road and fol- low the signs 3/4-mile to the facility. Ranch residents will have tables set up with their items for sale. There also will be an area of items donated to the Art Guild for the sale, as well as tables filled with furniture and kitchenware which the Ranch has retired. Sisters Habitat for Humanity will be on site to take unsold items. DAVIS The Sisters High School class of 2016 includes at least eight athletes who intend to join college teams next year to continue their careers. Among girls, Michaela Miller and Hannah Ceciliani will be playing soc- cer. Miller has signed on with the NCAA Division II Lancers of California Baptist University located in Riverside, California; while Ceciliani will be suit- ing up for Southern Oregon University, which competes at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level. Allie Spear signed a letter of intent last month to play volleyball as an outside hit- ter and libero for Concordia University in Portland. In a press release by Concordia announcing the spring sign- ing of three players includ- ing Spear, Coach Melanie Hambelton said, “I am so excited to have the oppor- tunity to coach Allie in the next four years. She is a player anyone would love to coach because of the way she approaches the game of volleyball. She is highly competitive, tenacious and has a passion for the game of volleyball.” Concordia competes at the NCAA Division II level. On the boys’ side, a pair of football players are look- ing to continue their careers in the gridiron at Linfield including Logan Schutte and Chance Halley. The Wildcats have a long tradition of excellence and attract a lot of Oregon prep players into their program. Colton Mannhalter and Jadon Bachtold, who played on two state champion- ship soccer teams while at Sisters High School, will be on the rosters at Cal State Stanislaus and Whitman College respectively. The Stanislaus Warriors compete at the Division II level while Whitman belongs to the NCAA Division III. Seth Larson will be test- ing himself athletically at Corban University in Salem, where he intends to take up the decathlon for the track and field team.
