Deputy Chief Craig also expressed appreciation for the District’s training and opera- tions partners, including Black Butte Ranch Fire District, Cloverdale Fire District, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Oregon Department of Forestry. Then it was time for the awards, which offered an instant reminder of the dedi- cation and sacrifice made by fire and emergency services personnel. Fire Medic Ward was scheduled to enjoy a badge-pinning ceremony, but was called away during the ceremony to answer a call for service. Award-winners were as follows: • 5 years of service: Marsha Marr, Steve Huffman; • 10 years of service: Bill and Sana Hayes; • 15 years of service: Jeremy Ast, Jeff Liming; • 25 years of service: Thornton Brown, Rita Hodge; • 40 years of service: Tom Haynes; • New Life Memberships awarded to: Chief Taylor Robertson, Stuart Honeyman; • Outstanding Partnership Award: Black Butte Ranch Fire District and Cloverdale Fire District; • C h i ef ’s Aw ar d f o r Excellence: Ernie and Beverly Halcon; • Career Firefighter of the Year: Cody Meredith; • Rookie of the Year: Kyle Sharek; • Outstanding Fire Fitness: Kyle Sharek; • Resident Volunteer of the Year: Cody Manzi; • Fire Corps Volunteer of the Year: Heather Miller; • Volunteer of the Year: Jeff Liming; • EMT of the year: Rita Hodge; • Firefighter of the Year: Ron Ketchum; Fire Chief Roger Johnson also wanted to publicly acknowledge Julie Spor for her tireless work in organiz- ing the awards banquet, and to highlight the commitment of Tom Haynes, who was hon- ored for 40 years of volunteer service. MANAGER: Report will be reviewed sometime next week Obituary leora Fern Warfield April 15, 1939 – March 11, 2016 Lee passed away in her sleep after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Gardner, Colorado on April 15, 1939 to Ruth and Ray Rowe. She married at age 14 in 1953 to Wilber A Warfield. Lee and Wilber traveled the world, as he was in the Air Force for over 20 years. They had four children: Ruthe Hunter and Donna Willis of Wesley Chapel, Florida; and daughter Cynthia Marie Warfield and son William (Bill) Warfield who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, hus- band, and two sisters, Shirley Ray Rowe and Joanne Rickards. She will be missed by brothers Don Rowe of Sisters and Wayne Rowe of Crooked River Ranch; sisters Shirley Jean Lolli and Diana Pepperling, both of Sisters. Lee’s great-grand- children include CeCe and DeDe Hunter; George, Isiah, and Phoenix Shuette; Brandon, Michaela, Scott and Eithan Warfield; Andrew and Arthur Willis; and Ashley and Zachery Curtis.
