January was colder than ‘normal’ in Sisters Country Temperatures at Sisters averaged colder than normal during the month of January, according to preliminary data received by NOAA’s National Weather Service in Pendleton. The average temperature was 29.2 degrees, which was 2.5 degrees below normal. High temperatures averaged 39.2 degrees, which was 1.4 degrees below normal. The highest was 54 degrees on January 28. Low tempera- tures averaged 19.2 degrees, which was 3.6 degrees below normal. The lowest was -6 degrees, on January 2. There were 30 days with the low temperature below 32 degrees. There were five days when the high tempera- ture stayed below 32 degrees. Precipitation totaled 2.20 inches during January, which was 0.31 inches above nor- mal. Measurable precipita- tion — at least .01 inch — was received on 8 days with the heaviest, 0.80 inches, reported on January 13.
