So fire managers “are just going to look for windows” when conditions will allow them to burn safely and effec- tively, Kern said. The area has seen some moisture, and Kern noted that “fuel moisture in one unit may be wildly different than in another unit.” Most of the burning activ- ity planned for the Deschutes National Forest in 2015-16 is south of Bend, but there are several areas to the west of to Sisters organizations including Sisters Park & Recreation District, Family Access Network, Outlaw Sports, Little League, Boy Scouts and many others. • Kiwanis financially sup- ported a dental van that vis- its Sisters once per month to provide free dental services. • In June, Kiwanis awarded scholarships to seven Sisters High School seniors. • Kiwanis awarded schol- arships to three adults to sup- port their career change.
