Free Army band concert set at Fir Street park The 204th Army Band will perform in a free community concert on Sunday, July 26, at 1 p.m. at Fir Street Park on the corner of Fir Street and Main Avenue. Performance features the small ensembles of the 204th, including: The Brass Monkeys Brass Band, the 204th Rock Band and Jazz Combo, and the Brass and Woodwind Quintets. “It’s a smorgasbord of small groups,” said concert organizer Tyler Cranor, who is also band leader at Sisters Middle School. Cranor plays bass and tuba. “I’ve been a member of the group for a little over four years now,” he said. “It’s a reserve band, so all the mem- bers kind of travel from far and wide.” “Far and wide” means from Klamath Falls in the south to Marysville, north of Seattle. The array of small groups features a variety of music, from a modern New Orleans- style ensemble to a traditional jazz combo, from a rock band to traditional woodwinds and brass. The concert is free and open to the public. Bring your own blanket or lawn chairs, and water and a picnic. Sisters city council Agenda City Hall, 520 E.
