Outlaws continue winning streak on the diamond
two-for-four.
Hodges said, “We had
key hits in key situations,
with runners on base, and our
pitchers threw strikes. And,
we were able to get out of a
couple of sticky situations
without the Lions scoring
runs.”
On Friday, the Outlaws
tallied eight hits, and com-
mitted no errors in their 4-0
shutout over the Huskies.
Sweet Home had six hits
in the game and recorded two
errors.
Morgan posted his eighth
win of the season as the
Outlaws pitcher. Zach pitched
the first four innings, and Luz
came in to finish.
In the third inning, Olivier
hit a double to the right-
center gap to score Luz from
first, for Sisters’ first run of
the contest.
The Outlaws added three
more runs in the fourth. Ben
Larson hit a line-drive to
left-center to drive in Odin
Thorson. Later in the inning,
Alec Gannon hit the ball
back to the pitcher, which
resulted in the Huskies trying
to run down Cody Kreminski
between third and home.
Kreminski was hit in the
back, but was able to score.
Olivier hit an RBI single to
score Sisters’ final run.
Sisters hit the ball well,
but left many runners on
base, especially in the fourth.
After scoring three runs, the
Outlaws loaded the bases
with no outs, but were unable
to bring any runners home.

The Outlaws posted two
more wins this past week and
are now on an eight-game
winning streak in confer-
ence play. Sisters defeated
the Lions 9-2 at Cottage
Grove on Tuesday, April 28,
and three days later blanked
Sweet Home 4-0 at home in
Sisters.
Sisters started with a big
first inning at Cottage Grove.
Justin Harrer scored two
when he smashed a triple to
left-center past the center-
fielder, who had no chance
to catch it. Ryan Funk hit a
single, which scored Harrer,
and Zach Morgan followed
with an RBI single.
The Outlaws added four
runs in the fourth to take an
8-0 lead. The big hit of the
inning was from Funk, who
hit it 345 feet, off the fence
for a double that scored two.
Sisters tacked on their
final run in the fifth. Cottage
Grove was only able to score
one run in the fifth and one in
the seventh.
Alex Olivier pitched the
first four innings and was the
Outlaws’ winning pitcher.
Harrer, Jonathan Luz, and
Morgan each pitched one
inning to close out the game.
Funk had a great day at
the plate and finished with
two doubles, going three-for-
four with five RBI. Morgan

Sweet Home posed a big
threat to the Outlaws in the
seventh inning. The Huskies
loaded the bases with one
out, and their No. 2 batter hit
a hard line drive straight to
Gannon. Alec made the catch
and quickly threw to first to
get the final out on the run-
ner, who couldn’t get back to
the base in time.
“They (Sweet Home)
could have tied the game very
quick,” said Hodges. “We are
very fortunate to get out of
this game with a shutout.”
Olivier was the Outlaws
hitting star and went three-
for-four in the game.
“Alex has been swinging
a hot bat this last month,”
said Hodges. “He’s been Mr.
Clutch, for sure, and has had
key hits at key times.”
Sisters is currently 9-1 in
conference and 16-2 overall.
The Outlaws were to play
at Sweet Home on Monday,
May 4. Sisters will play at
Elmira on Wednesday, May
