The Lady Outlaws lost
9-6 in a hard-fought game
at South Salem on Saturday,
April 11.
Emily Ford scored Sisters’
lone goal in the first half of
the contest, while South
Salem was able to knock in
four to take a 4-1 lead at the
half.
Sisters played a much
tighter game in the second
half. The Outlaws rallied and
scored four goals, but South
Salem tacked on five more
goals to earn the win.
One big play for the
Outlaws came in the last 10
minutes of the game. Marissa
Young dove for a ball that
was headed out of bounds,
saved it, and was able to get
a pass to Jessica Edwards for
a goal.
The Outlaws were able to
control the midfield through-
out the game, and really
played toe-to-toe with the
Saxons, especially in the sec-
ond half.
Edwards led Sisters with
four goals and Ford added
two. Langley Vogt recorded
five ground balls and five
draw controls. Young had
three ground balls.

Goalie Bree Papworth did
a great job and recorded 10
saves. According to Coach
Mikaela Trott-Rickards,
Papworth has one of the
highest goalie stats in the
league.
“The team is doing well,”
said Trott-Rickards. “They
are passing the ball and
catching well. They’re trust-
ing each other and they’re
matching up well with the
competition, especially from
our first game to our third.”
Sisters was to play against
Corvallis on Tuesday, April
14. On Saturday, April 18,
Sisters will play in a dou-
ble-header at home. The
Outlaws will face Crescent
Valley at noon and then take
on West Salem in a 2 p.m.
game.
