Awards go to companies that enhance the positive image of small business. The Lady Outlaws lost 9-6 in a hard-fought game at South Salem on Saturday, April 11. Emily Ford scored Sisters’ lone goal in the first half of the contest, while South Salem was able to knock in four to take a 4-1 lead at the half. Sisters played a much tighter game in the second half. The Outlaws rallied and scored four goals, but South Salem tacked on five more goals to earn the win. One big play for the Outlaws came in the last 10 minutes of the game. Marissa Young dove for a ball that was headed out of bounds, saved it, and was able to get a pass to Jessica Edwards for a goal. The Outlaws were able to control the midfield through- out the game, and really played toe-to-toe with the Saxons, especially in the sec- ond half. Edwards led Sisters with four goals and Ford added two. Langley Vogt recorded five ground balls and five draw controls. According to Coach Mikaela Trott-Rickards, Papworth has one of the highest goalie stats in the league. “The team is doing well,” said Trott-Rickards. “They are passing the ball and catching well. They’re trust- ing each other and they’re matching up well with the competition, especially from our first game to our third.” Sisters was to play against Corvallis on Tuesday, April 14. On Saturday, April 18, Sisters will play in a dou- ble-header at home. The Outlaws will face Crescent Valley at noon and then take on West Salem in a 2 p.m. game.
