THE TRAIH J. D. Nasmith, of Nasmith Co., ot Toronto, Canada, a large bakery concern with plants In both Toronto and Vancouver, B. C, died on the Shasta limited shortly after noon to day, Just before the train arrived In Salem. Mr. Nasmith had been ad miring the scenery and bad Just said he hoped he would be able to see Mt. Hood before he left Oregon. The words were scarcely out of his mouth when his head dropped over and he was dead. Heart failure was the cause. Mr. Nasmith was accompan ied by his wife, who Is at the Marlon hotel, completely prostrated over the sad affair, Both were old people.
