Letter ' An unsigned communication from Salem Heights has been received by the Journal, which comments on the rumor that the street car com pany contemplates putting their cars off the Salem Heights run. Bring In your poultry. 11-16-eod-tf Pass Resolution State Superintendent of Public In struction Alderman Is In receipt r-f resolutions passed by the school offi cers, convention recently held at Dal las, In which his plan to have cop- gress set aside the lands given to the Southern Pacific by a grant for tha public schools is endorsed. Suit was Instituted In the federal courts for the cancellation of the title to these lands, and a judgment rendered in favor of the government. The case Is now on appeal before the- suprPme court. Frohmader was badly Injured today in a cave-In under the Dr. Steoves building on State street, where excavations are being made, preparatory to a general remodeling of the structure. Frohmader was engaged at the time with another workman in load In the wagon, and was standing be side It. Because of the weight of the building on the bank where the exca vation waj being done it gave way, and both men were hurled for 10 feet or more.. Frohmader was thrown against the wagon, and, while the at tending physician gave It as his opin ion that no bones were Injured, he expressed fears of grave internal injuries'.
