Leaving Grants Pass the line will follow a di rect route to Portland along the coast. H is designed primarily to be a scenic route. The Northwestern is owned jointly by the Santa Fe and the Southern Pacific. Surveys and estimates for the Trinidad to Port land line have been passed upon bv Southern Pacific and Santa Fe offi cials and work will be rushed.
