Baker 1'loncer Dead H. H. Corey, Sr., of Baker City, died Sunday at the age of 84 years. He was the fatber of H. H. Corey, assistant secretary of state and R. R. Corey, of Baker City, -where he has lived for the past 25 years. He was a pioneer of eastern Oregon and has always lived on the frontier. Goes to Gates- Deputy District Attorney1 Winslow will leave tomorrow for Gates where he will prosecute Ed Wolfe, charged with assault and battery. Pioneers' Picnic The Waldo Hills Pioneer picnic was held today at the Hunt grove with a. large attendance. John H. McNary of this city was orator of the day. Commission Goes to Rnker The members of the State Rail road Commission today went to Bak er, where they will hold a hearing in the complaint made against the service of the Sumpter Valley Rail road company. It la charged In the complaint that the company falls to maintain a sufficient crew of men to operate the trains; that the diiff patching service is inadequate, aad also that the flagging system Is im perfect.
