PAGE SIX. DAJLT CAPITAL JOURNAL, 8AIXM, OREGOX, FRIDAT, MARCH 31. 1911. MADAM SHERRY IS COMING BEST RECENT COMIC OPERA The one big red letter event that looms up on the local theatrical cal endar la the coming of "Madame Sherry" to the Grand Opera House on Saturday evening, April 8. Of all musical comedy successes of the past decade, not one can equal the artistic and financial triumph scored by this dainty French vaude ville In New York this season. With out a solitary exception all the met ropolitan critics joined In proclaim ing "Madame Sherry" the gem of musical productions. The same has been the case in Chicago, St Louis and all other .cities where the piece was offered on Its trip to the Pacific coast, and In San Fraclsco It has Just closed the most successful engage ment of three weeks In the history of that city, hundreds being turned away at every performance. Originally a French creation which ran In Paris for two years, "Madame Sherry" was adapted for the Ameri can stage by Otto Hauerbach, while Karl Hoschna furnished a delightful musical score. The triumph of the piece In America was Instantaneous, and from the day of its opening at the New Amsterdam Theater, In New York, last August, the performances have all been record-breaking In their attendance. Its wholesome, fragrant humor, has convulsed every audience with laughter, and the music of the piece has traveled all over the world. One number In particular. "Every Little Movement Has a Mean ing All Its Own", Is being played, sung and whistled wherever music Is known. It Is coming here In all Its glory, and with that perfect cast which Includes Oscar Flgman, Ann Tasker, Mary Qulve, Lottie Kendall, Chcrldah Simpson, William Cameron, Harry Benham, Harold Rehlll, Ed ward Elkas and a score of others. HESITATED BETWEEN PEN AND HIS WIFE DEXTKIt KOHEKTS AT FIItST IX CMXEI) 10 STAY IX THE PKX, HE EVIDENTLY THOUGHT "HOME AIN'T A NOTHIV LIKE THIS." Whether to return to the penitenti ary and serve out the balance of his sentence, one year, or avail himself of a conditional pardon which made It Incumbent upon him if he desired to enjoy his liberty to return to his farm and live with his wife was a question which puzzled Dexter Rob erts yesterday afternoon, but after considerable hesitation and upon be ing assured that the condition did not make it necessary for him to live with her forever, he availed himself of the pardon. Dexter Roberta Is a man of years, has reached the half century mark. On May 15, 1909, he was sentenced from Morrow county to a term of four years In the state prison for ob taining money under false pretenses. He 1ms served three of those years and yesterday through the efforts of his wife and friends, he secured a conditional pardon from Governor West. When he read the document and found that the condition was that he must return to his farm and live with his wife he balked. He wanted to know of the governor If that meant that he must live with his wife forever and upon the gover nor nodding assent, replied that he had only a year to serve and guessed he would return to the penitentiary. Wife Wins Him Over. His ungratefulness did not appeal to Governor West and he grabbed up the document and summoning the wife, stated that her husband did not seem to appreciate Ills liberation. Roberts finally learned that if he lived on the farm with the wife for a year that his sentence would be completed and that then he could go wherever ho pleased, but he still hes itated which to choose, life with the wife or the state prison. Irritated by his hesitation the governor said: "It Is up to you; either comply with the condition or go to the peniten tiary." The wife then plead with the husband and finally he decided In favor of liberation and reached out for the pardon and slouched out of the room, the wife leading. Offer Prohably you are afraid to try most so-called Ilalr Restorers for fear they will turn out to be dyes. Listen to thin: On a certain day I am willing to place In your hands a trial bot tle of my Hair Restorer. Don't put It all over your head just try a little spot In an Inconspicuous place behind the par, for Instance, and watch the results. If this were a dye, It would color the hair, wouldn't It In just that llttlo spot? Hut It won't color It fimply restores. Watch that little spot-put the Hair Restorer on every day-just according to Instructions on the bottle. Gradually you will see the former nutural color returning to the hair that grows from that little spot where yon put on the Restoror. When you see It, and recognize the old original color, your hair used to be, you will be delighted. How was It done? will be your natural question. This Is the way Mary T. Hold man's Gray Hair Jtestrr works. It positively does not color It restores the natural activity In the cells around the roots of the hair, thus enabling these exhausted cells to once more secrete the pigment that formerly gave to your hair Its original color. If you saw a plant drooping for want of water, would you think It wrong to give what you knew was needed? Now, here is your own hair-gray, perhaps handsome, but turn ing gray, nevertheless, which proclaims the fact that you are get ting old. You know the advantages of being young in society or In business to man or woman and then, there is the Influence on your feelings. You look in the glass nnd see gray hair you know thnt it means thnt the years left to you are fewer anil fewer. Why keep It over before you? Why deprive yourself of business and so rial advantages by keeping this fact ever before the world even when It Is not necessary? It is vulgar to dye the hair but It Is not vulgar to take a for an overworked system or for overworked hair cells. That Is all there Is to it. tonic Some anxiety, or strenuous years, or prolonegd care has over taxed the brain and sapped strength from every nerve and cell and, very naturally, from the hair cells so close to the brain. Thus Im poverished, they could not do their duty got on the down grade and the color of your hair simply went faded out. Revive these pigment cells to their old activity and the color will return. It sounds simple, but Mary T. Goldman, Goldman Building, St. Paul, Minn., Is the only one, thus far, who has discovered what will thus revive the hair cells a solution as pure as water. Now, here Is ymir opportunity. Free sample bottles of Mary T. Goldman's Gray Hair Restorer will be given away this week only at J. V. Perry's Drug Store, 115 S. Commercial street, Salem, Ore. Go and get one. That costs nothing. Examine it ask the druggim about It write us, If you want to and Just try a little place. Nobody but yourself will be the wiser. Big wool growers of Eastern Oregon and Washington have determined to. ship their wool to London direct, In the hope of securing better values for their product than In the United States, according to Information reaching here today. The woolnien assert that prices are better in the English market on ac count of the absence of tariff. They claim that the tariff talk set up by American woolen mill owners Is an attempt merely to force down the buying price of wool hlle making no reductions on the price of woolen cloth. Shearing has commenced on the sheep ranges but It will be several weeks before the clip Is prepared for shipment. o Wants Bids for oBnds.
