They arrived iit Acme a few hours later. Sheriff tUevenssu, of Skagit county and his deputies, with bloodhounds, drove from Setlro Wolley wearing out two relays of horses in their forced jour ney. At daybreak' this morning the hounds took the trail at Acme and tlie man hunt commenced. The rob bery that the thugs committed before the shooting is aiding the officers greatly. The men stole a case of shoes from a store near Acme. They were followed to the latter town by Stevens who called on Galbralth to arrest them, and when the justice tailed on the thieves to halt, they opened fire, dropping both their pur suers. They then dropped every thing and ran, and among the arti cles abandoned were their old shoes, which they had changed for new tmes before reaching Acme.
