Section 7. Xo person shall hinder or molest anv person or persons who may be encaeed in seizing any dog, killing or removing the carcass thereof in conformity with this oV.inance, under such penalty a is herein provided. Sectioa S. It shall be the duty of the Poundmaster to make complaint ot all violations of this ordinance, and the sum of three dollars shall be taxed as costs acainst'tbe defendant upon every conviction ior a vioiauon oi this ordinance in addition to a fine or imprisonment. Section P. All monevs received by the Ponndmaster under the provisions of this ordinance shall be by him at once deposited in the city treasury, and a duplicate receipt therefor shall be by him thereupon filed with the Recorder. Section 10. The Poundmaster shall make a full report each month to the Common Council of all dogs taken, as well as of all dogs killed by him under the provisions of this ordinance. Section 11. It shall be the duty of the Poundmaster to see that all dogs found upon the public streets, alleys, parks, and squares in the City of Salem, are duly licensed, and to catch, impound, sell and kill, all dogs found upon the public streets, alleys, parks, and squares of said city which have not been duly licensed. Said Pound master shall at his own expense pro vide a suitable and sufficient pound for the impounding of all unlicensed dogs taken by him, and properly feed and care for said dogs while c(nfined in said pound, asd shall bear all expense of impounding .advertising, keeping, selling, killing, and disposing of all dogs impounded and that the City of Salem shall . not be liable for" such expenses. Section 12. Any persons violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof before the Citv Becorder be punished by a fine of cot less than $3.00 nor more than 540.00 and in defautt of the pay ment of any such fine shall be im prisoned in the city jail one day for each $2.00 of such fine. Section 1G. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed Pasted by the Council July 16, 1900. TV. A. MOORES, Recorder.
