Besides tho oncamphiont of tlio state militia, which it is planned wrii bo held on tho grounds for sovornl days, it is also "ru mored that lo picked men will bo taken from the 0. N. G. and used as gunrds at tho exposition. Tho Oregon Agricultural College ca blet corps is planning "to niHrch from Corvallis to Portland, and onmp near tho grounds whoro the fair is" held. This corps consists of 402 youths, well drilled in military maneuvers, whilo music will bo furnished by a cadet band of 30 pieces. Tho "Washington Agricul tural Collogo cadet corps likewise plan to bo present, 300 strong, thoy also having their own music. ' It has not been learned what stylo of uniform tho boys from Pullman will wcar but tho Oregon "farmers" Jiavo decided upon a now uniform of olivo green. This will make a very pretty uniform, and, with tho O. N. G. dressed in olivo drab, and tho regulars from Vancouver, who will doubtless bo in attendance, dressed in tho regulation light and dark blue, it will bo a gay and martial scene. u Former Salcmito Dead. John G. Schmidt, formerly a partner of Aug. Iluckcstein, in this city, died at Grants Pass Saturday, February 11, 1D05, aged 48 years.
